The Daisy May Women’s Bowling Tournament held every year at the Hillbilly Bowl in Kimberling City, Missouri. We've been going strong for 46 years now - in fact, we're the longest running women's tournament in the State of Missouri. And we're the "funnest".
What’s so different and fun about the Daisy May Tournament? It truly is the “funnest tournament in Southwest Missouri” for women. Hillbilly Bowl consists of 12 wooden lanes. Manager “Frogg” Elkins maintains and oils the lanes just like they’ve been oiled for over 40 years. There is a restaurant, an open bar, and a juke box at the ready. The down home atmosphere is upbeat and friendly, the retro bowling alley is truly unique, and we still use scorekeepers and display the scores by overhead projection. There are door prizes and fundraisers are held to benefit the Hillbilly Youth Scholarship Fund and the Ozarks Honor Flight for World War II veterans. In Daisy May tradition, bowlers receive a bar of soap for a clean game with no open frames, and dancing is allowed.
Daisy May hosts eight weekends of fun. There is one squad on Friday nights, three squads on Saturdays, and two squads every Sunday, including Mother’s Day Sunday and Father's Day Sunday, but excluding the entire Memorial Day weekend.
Entry Fees, Ratios, and Prize Fund Entry fees are $20 per person per event (Team, Singles and Doubles). There are two optional All Event categories, Handicapped and Scratch, each for an additional $3. All prize funds are returned 100% in the event collected. Last year’s prizes totaled over $23,000. The prize ratio for Team, Singles and Doubles is 1:10. For All Events, the ratio is 1:12. This is a handicap tournament, based on 80% of a 200 average, and is a USBC-sanctioned tournament.
